Oyster Shero Spotlight(OSS)

Welcome to the Oyster Shero spotlight for the month of May. Our OSS seeks to celebrate the work of our women small holder farmers who inspire us daily to work diligently and relentlessly in the pursuit of our dreams. Meet Laar Laari, a fifty eight year old woman making strides in farming across her town ; Kobeda in the Kintampo North District. Madam Laari won the award for the Woman with the Highest Quantity Per Acre in Oyster’s maiden award scheme held in February 2024 for small holder farmers. Madam Laar grew up in a typical farming community and has individually farmed for about thirty five years. She considers farming to be an integral part of her destiny. She demonstrates exceptional work ethic and perseverance especially during both rainy and dry seasons. As a full time farmer, her crops include cassava, local sorghum, cowpea and groundnut. Her sorghum currently stands out as one of the best quality among her other crops. Madam Laar is married with six beautiful children, whom she has supported through tertiary school through her hard work. Madam Laar has distinguished herself as a woman of hardwork, a family advisor and a great support to her husband. Oyster Agribusiness is glad to be part of her story and even more excited to to join hands together to feed the world. Cheers to our Sheroes making big moves in the Agricultural landscape and beyond.
